1. Acceptance of the terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Skola. By creating an account, signing in, or using the platform, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself or the school you represent.

If you are using Skola for a school, trust, or group, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation and that you will ensure your users follow these terms.

2. The service

Skola is a multi-tenant school operating system that helps schools manage students, staff, attendance, academics, results, fees, communication, and related workflows.

We may add, remove, or update features over time. Where a feature depends on a third-party service or an external integration, that feature may be subject to the third party’s terms.

3. Accounts and permissions

You must provide accurate account information and keep login credentials secure. You are responsible for activities that occur under your account.

Schools are responsible for assigning role-based permissions, reviewing who has access to sensitive records, and removing access promptly when a user leaves or no longer needs access.

4. School data and ownership

Schools retain ownership of the content and records they upload into Skola, subject to the rights granted to us to operate, host, store, process, and display that content for the service.

Schools are responsible for the legality of the data they upload, including notices, consents, and other obligations relating to students, parents, teachers, and staff.

5. Fees, trials, and billing

Some plans include a free trial. When the trial ends, continued use of paid features requires an active subscription and timely payment of fees.

Unless an order form or applicable law says otherwise, fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable. Taxes, transfer charges, and payment processor fees may also apply.

We may suspend paid features for failed or overdue payments after giving reasonable notice where required.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Skola to:

  • Upload or distribute unlawful, harmful, defamatory, fraudulent, or infringing content.
  • Access data or accounts without permission, attempt to bypass role permissions, or interfere with another user’s access.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, probe, or disrupt the service, unless such activity is expressly permitted by law.
  • Send spam, malicious code, or abusive messages through the platform.

7. Intellectual property

Skola and its underlying software, branding, designs, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during the subscription term, subject to these terms.

8. Third-party services

Skola may rely on cloud hosting, authentication, storage, messaging, analytics, or payment providers to deliver the service.

We are not responsible for third-party services that are outside our control, although we will use commercially reasonable efforts to integrate with them reliably.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe there is a security issue, non-payment, abuse, illegal activity, or a material breach of these terms.

You may stop using Skola at any time. If your subscription is cancelled, access to paid features may end at the close of the billing cycle unless otherwise agreed.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Skola is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent allowed by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that the service will meet every school’s unique requirements.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for claims arising from the service is limited to the amount paid to us for the service during the period giving rise to the claim, unless a different limit is required by law.

11. Governing law and contact

These terms are intended for Skola’s school customers across Africa. Unless your contract states otherwise, any dispute is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and handled in a court of competent jurisdiction there.

For questions about these terms, contact info@skolahq.com.

Need a custom agreement?

If your school, trust, or group needs a data processing agreement, enterprise terms, or a custom contract addendum, contact us and we’ll review it with you.
